Vinpocetine is an extract of the periwinkle plant. It has been well researched and available in Europe for the past twenty years, and provides safe and effective circulatory benefits to the retina and the brain. Vinpocetine is present in Pure Focus, but additional amounts may be recommended for some people, especially those with diabetes, hypertension, depression, extensive stress, or more advanced eye disease, especially when there is a history of retinal bleeding.

There has been some significant research that has shown that Vinpocetine’s ability to improve blood flow in the brain and the eye can bring about improvements in mental functioning and enhance memory. It has been used to help in stroke prevention and to aid in recovery after stroke. The increase in mental functions can be so pronounced that the International Olympic Committee has considered Vinpocetine as a supplmenet that should be placed on the list of performance enhancing drugs banned for use by Olympic athletes! Vinpocentine does not have the effect of thinning the blood that is seen with Ginkgo Biloba.

Vinpocetine and Ginkgo Biloba appear to work by different mechanisms and there are times when it would be desirable to take both of these together. This should only be done after a consultation with Dr. Miller or Dr. Halloran.

DOSAGE: The dosage of additional Vinpocetine is 20-40 mg per day, divided with half the dose in the morning and half the dose in the evening with food.

Ingredients: Vinpocetine 10 mg.
